• Grey out unfinished careers in character creation and block new transfers into them.
• Only Mining currently meets every readiness requirement; Salvage remains in development.
• Default new characters to an available career.
• Retain existing pilots and allow resuming careers already held.
• Replace retired career version promises with In development labels.

No Sol reset or save migration is required.
